My Events for Quarter 3, Orlando Reads Books, and my Ko-Fi Is Available for Commissions!
Quarter 3 Is Going to Be Busy!!
How is your Quarter 3 starting out? Did it start with a bang? š
Last week was the 4th of July, here in the States. My family and I had a great day; we went to a local baseball game. On the sixth, I streamed on my YouTube channel. I did also today, as well. Which brings to mind the events I have coming up for this quarter.
My first event for Quarter 3 isnāt an in-person event, but itās a fun one!
Iām going to be participating in my first Virtual Writing Retreat for the online writersā group called the Heart Breathings Writing Community.
What is this community about?
Supporting each other. Thatās it. We support other writers. We lift each other up.
We stream for each other. In other words, the admins of the Facebook group (I am one, myself) do live streams for productivity sprints.
In fact, I usually stream for the Heart Breathings Writing Community on Tuesdays, from 11 am to 1 pm, Eastern.
The Virtual Writing Retreat, which takes place during each quarter of the year, is special. It brings members of the community together from all around the world throughout a full weekend, to work on their writing together.
While it takes place from Friday, July 21 to Sunday, July 24, my streams for the Virtual Writing Retreat are on Saturday from 3 pm to 5 pm, and on Sunday from 11 am to 1 pm. All times are Eastern Standard Time.
Iām looking forward to finding out the virtual location that weāre streaming from! Last quarter, the location was Dallas, Texas. There were many references to the city of
Dallas, Texas, tour buses, and barbecue. There is always a lot of participation in the chats. Itās a real party of a writing session, all weekend long!
Speaking of parties, the next event I am participating in is in August, and is calledā¦
Orlando Reads Books
This (in-person) event takes place during the weekend of Thursday, August 22 to Saturday, August 24.
I will only be attending this event, and not speaking. That will be for the following event I will mention hereā¦
My focus will be on networking, and Iām also going to be there to learn.
Iām always Learning (And You Should Be, Too!)
Why? You get better at it.
And, I need to learn. Of course, I do. Iām not exempt from learning new things. We all need to learn how to do our jobs better. Thatās especially true for writers and other creatives, including editors.
I Have Writing Friends Who Will Be There
Iām looking forward to meeting so many great authors, but I am really looking forward to meeting a few people that I only know online. One is Adrian Santiago, a.k.a. Books by Adrian on YouTube, who just recently published a novel, called Mythic: Shadow of the Spark, and a prequel short story to the series these are from.
Another author Iām really looking forward to seeing is another of AuthorTubeās own, Lisa Daily. Lisa will actually be speaking during the eventās Industry Days, which are on Thursday and Friday. There will be lots of other speakers as well, discussing anything from writing an effective first chapter by Kerry Evelyn to crime writing, taught by a former police officer and CIA operative.
Lisaās talk, āSecrets of 7-Figure Authors,ā is based on the name of her most recent book for authors, What 7-Figure Authors Do Differently. She is also a romance writer, and her most recent series is a hockey comedy romance, called the St. Pete Slashers series.
Another author I am excited to meet is the writer who writes under the names Leigh Roman and C.L. Roman, who writes paranormal romance, and paranormal YA, fantasy, and science fiction. She also lives in Florida.
But Attending Conferences Isnāt Cheap
There are hotel costs, gas, and other business expenses.Ā
But I do have a Ko-Fiā¦ so I am raising funds to help me make ends meet.
If you would like to help, you can either donate or commission some artwork, including cards or bookmarks.Ā
Here are some samples
If you choose to either donate or contribute in any way, thank you so much!Ā
